Rundown of Violence
Anbar Province
_ Gunmen attacked an Iraqi security patrol in Fallujah killing at least two soldiers.
Baghdad Province
_ Two people were killed when a series of mortars slammed into the heavily fortified Green Zone in central Baghdad.
_ The bodies of some 30 people have been found across Baghdad in the last 24 hours.
Dhi Qar Province
_ Clashes broke out early Wednesday morning between members of Muqtada al-Sadr's Mahdi Army and Iraqi governmental forces in and around the southern city of Nasiriyah. At least 11 people were killed in the skirmishes while nearly 80 others were reported injured.
Diyala Province
_ A car bombing late Tuesday evening in the Shiite village of Abu Saydah left at least 36 Iraqis dead and more than 60 wounded.
Nineveh Province
_ Four Iraqi policemen were killed when a group of insurgents launched an assualt on a Mosul police station and an adjoining prison.
Tamim Province
_ The mayor of Riyadh, a city southwest of Kirkuk, was killed in a roadside bomb attack.
